RE: Fleas R US

If you do make sure the propane is turned off. If the flea bomb doesn't work, Flea Busters powder works very well. It's messy but does the trick. For Sure on any flames........ a lot of companies use propane as the propelant in a lot of spray cans, so you are realy making a big bomb if the right conditions come into play. I have had real good luck with some stuff that I got at Home Depot it's call. Enforcer Flea spray in the 1 gal container I put it in a Hudson sprayer and did the whole house it is good for 7 or 9 months I had to do it two times the wife vacumed 3 times a week and we got all them critters.

RE: Whistling Jacobs Brake

Whats it “whistling" Dixie? Im sorry I just could not resist. Is the waist gate closing all the way? if not a loose or worn out spring on the gate, it could be carbon build up not allowing it to close all the way too.

RE: Portable Fire Rings

I havn't see one that fold up yet other than a black square cube looking thing, I use a burn barrel ( washer tub ) 18" off the ground, you being from Calif know the fire hazards we must face, so I wont go into it with you, I have put mine up and use the one camping world sells the one that has a red lid it also has a large flame too, and it is approved by the rangers and most state parks because no sparks emit from it, the truble with the onec that are close to the ground is heat transfer from the burner to the ground.

RE: How far can you drive on a flat?

I dont understand why you would would want to put your 5ers axels under all that stress, I would put it in 4lo and drag it on the frame before I stand on the white line separating me from traffic to change a flat. People have died on the freeways doing that around here. :E I guess if it was the traffic side that could pose a hazard, but thats why I got GSERS now he can take the risk. Mine were on the sholder side which was no problem to change.

RE: How far can you drive on a flat?

I dont understand why you would would want to put your 5ers axels under all that stress, instead of putting on the spair tire, the realy bad part about that is the tires are usually so close together when the bad tire starts to go south, it will attack the other tire and your trailer wheel wells and anything close to it, I have had two tires go and and repaired them on the hwy or street. I now have GSERS now they will do the work for me.

RE: Loose dog attacked me and my dog

I glad you ended the problem with the baton, we cant have them here in my state so I carry a childs aluminum base ball bat instead. I like the clubbing method best, If a person dont care about there dog and others getting hurt they dont need a agressive dog. A police officer told me one time that if you fear for your life from another animal it's death is justafiable. to bad that dont go for some of the owners of these pet.

RE: Best RV Parks in Oregon

I loved Oregon and it's beautiful shore line and State parks, and the majority of them have full hookups, partial and primitive without hookups at least all the ones we visited. we stayed on the coast side because it was cooler and closer to the tourist sites. I think where ever you go and camp you'll be content. good luck on your pick and have fun.

RE: sharpen knifes

If you want to be the hero of the neigborhood learn how to sharpen knives. It does take some practice and not a bad idea to use some cotton gloves when you are just learning. I learned to sharpen knives in a resturant many years ago. The link shows the sharpener I use. With the three stones you can take a piece of junk and turn it into a razor in a few minutes. I do have an old leather belt attached to my work bench to put a finishing touch on them. I only need to touch my knives about twice a year with the stone and then only need the finest grit since the bevel is where I want them. As mentioned a good steel is a must to keep them tuned up in between sharpenings. You can use two knives together but that is a dangerous method and not for the faint hearted. To transport knives roll each one up in a dish towell. Knife sharpener YC-1 thats the one we used to have when I was cooking in the detention centers,it is a great set of stones, especally when I sharpened my large 12" 40 year old carbon steel chiefs knife great for water melons now. to bad it cost so much money I'd buy another.

RE: sharpen knifes

FYI plural of knife is "knives" with a "v" not an "f". GAWD! another teacher on the forum. How the heck do you expect people to improve their spelling if you don't point it out to them? Maybe they don't want to come across as being ignorant and welcome the help. Maybe they are mature and can handle being corrected. Double Ditto on my first comment, why should you care?

RE: How to carry extra diesel

As of right now I have and use a 5 gal container that I purchased at a motercycle shop, I know you have seen them, they are about a foot square and almost 24" tall and a long hose on the cap,all dirt bike riders have them sitting in the bed of there trucks, yellow, red, blue several colors, mine is almost 20 years old and still going strong, been droped, kicked, and cussed at. I'll use this untill I get my transfer tank ( I hope ) for the back of the TV, then it will be for my honda generators when we go to Q-site.

RE: Dealer wants to buy my old axles and wheels

My mistake. A lot of emphasis is placed on DOT codes, but when you need tires, you take what they have. I never take what they give me, I look at the DOT code before they take the wheels off my rims. if they are the same year or several months old I'll buy them, if not they can order me some new ones, I dont need old tires comming apart while I'm on vacation or traveling at night.

RE: Could Toyoda cancel their truck?

I have an 07 Tundra. Does this mean it will now be a collector's item? I will take $30K for mine...any takers? I hope it dont happen to the Tundra, they did the same thing with the old Landcruser you remember the one that looked like a jeep but better, and stronger parts. Good luck trying to get 30K for your Toy.
